Bone Scan

Nuclear scintigraphy, commonly called a bone scan, is a powerful diagnostic tool for identifying sources of lameness and poor performance that may be difficult or impossible to see with standard radiographs or ultrasound alone.
At Rhinebeck Equine, our equine bone scan service allows us to evaluate your horse’s entire skeleton in a single, targeted study, highlighting areas of increased bone activity that may indicate stress fractures, arthritis, sacroiliac problems, spinal pain, or other orthopedic issues.
For horses with complex, multi-limb lameness, inconsistent performance, or elusive back or pelvic pain, a bone scan can provide the missing piece of information that helps us reach a clear diagnosis and design an effective treatment plan.
