Equine Neurologic Exams

Neurologic problems in horses can be especially unsettling for owners, because they often affect balance, coordination, and behavior in ways that are hard to interpret.
At Rhinebeck Equine, our equine neurologic exams are designed to carefully evaluate your horse’s nervous system and pinpoint where a problem may be originating—whether in the brain, spinal cord, or peripheral nerves.
Horses may be referred for a neurologic exam due to stumbling, weakness, abnormal gaits, changes in behavior or mentation, difficulty backing or turning, neck pain, facial asymmetry, or unexplained poor performance.
