Dr. Jess McCaskill grew up in Austin, Texas. She earned her undergraduate degree in Animal Science with a focus in Equine Science from Texas A&M University. While she had never really touched a horse before college, she knew veterinary medicine was the right path, so she jumped into everything equine and fell in love.

Dr. McCaskill stayed at Texas A&M University’s College of Veterinary Medicine, where her focus remained on equine medicine with a special interest in large animal emergency medicine and surgery. She is joined by her cat, Stella; her chocolate Labrador, Chip; and her German Shepherd, Charlie. In her free time, Dr. McCaskill enjoys riding motocross, making pottery, and playing tennis.
