Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine (TCVM) is an ancient medical system that includes acupuncture, massage, herbal therapies, and more. Eastern and Western veterinary medical therapies can complement one another, allowing you to provide the best possible care and treatment for your horse.

Acupuncture involves the use of thin, sterile needles to stimulate acupoints throughout the body. Benefits include endorphin release, increased blood flow, pain relief, and neurological stimulation. Acupuncture can help horses with a multitude of conditions, including musculoskeletal issues, endocrine disorders, behavioral challenges, and subfertility to name a few.

Most horses tolerate needling well, and many enjoy the treatment, even napping during their sessions. Depending on the situation, your veterinarian might use dry needles, electroacupuncture, aquapuncture, or moxibustion. Acupuncture is useful for maintaining equine health and comfort, as well as preventing and treating injury and disease.
