Rhinebeck Equine's surgical team, led by board-certified surgeons, provides expertise and experience in a full range of elective and emergency procedures. Some of the surgeries we perform include emergency colic surgeries, arthroscopic and orthopedic surgeries for joint injuries and fractures, laparoscopic surgery, wound repair, and upper airway procedures. Our surgeons are involved in the management of each case from diagnosis through rehabilitation to assist patients in returning to their previous level of activity.
Our surgical facility prioritizes your horse's comfort and safety. Our custom-designed anesthesia induction and recovery stalls have non-slip rubber flooring, padded walls, and assisted recovery using head and tail ropes in multiple configurations. The operating room is equipped with top-of-the-line surgical and anesthesia equipment. Laparoscopic procedures can be performed under general anesthesia or standing, and we offer surgical laser and videoendoscopy for advanced procedures.
Postoperatively, we provide round-the-clock care and attention to your horse, including monitoring vital signs and the highest level of intensive care for critical patients. Our caring staff, including veterinary interns, licensed technicians, and barn attendants, treat each patient with compassion and respect, as if they were our own horses.
