Did you know gastroscopy is the only 100% accurate way to confirm a horse has gastric ulcer syndrome?

During the procedure, the fasted horse is sedated and a small camera (endoscope) is inserted through the nostril and into the stomach to look for ulcers. Not all gastric ulcers are the same, and looking inside the stomach with a scope helps us confirm which type of ulcers horses have, the severity, and ensures they receive the right treatment. And sometimes we find horses suspected of having ulcers don't have them at all, saving owners from paying for expensive and unnecessary gastric support and treatments over horses' lifetimes.

During our two-day Gastroscopy Clinic this month, we're offering 25% off gastroscopies with our internal medicine specialists for horses not previously scoped by Rhinebeck Equine. The discount applies to sedation, the exam and scope, and an outpatient stall (if necessary). All exams must take place at the clinic, and availability is limited to six horses per day.
