Rhinebeck Equine is a full-service equine hospital serving the Hudson Valley and surrounding regions. With a commitment to excellence in veterinary care, we are currently seeking a skilled and reliable Facilities Maintenance Technician to join our team.
Position Overview
The Facilities Maintenance Technician (Handyman/Woman) plays a vital role in keeping our hospital, barns, and grounds in top condition. This full-time role involves a wide variety of tasks including general maintenance, repairs, light carpentry, painting, and seasonal landscaping.
Key Responsibilities
Perform maintenance and repair tasks throughout the hospital, barns, and grounds.
Identify and address maintenance needs proactively—think ahead and solve problems before they escalate.
Conduct general facility upkeep including minor plumbing, electrical, and HVAC support (as skill allows).
Coordinate with outside vendors for repairs beyond internal capabilities.
Complete light carpentry work, painting, and minor renovations.
Manage seasonal tasks such as mowing, weed whacking, snow shoveling, and general grounds care.
Qualifications
Minimum 3 years of experience in building or facility maintenance (preferred).
Hands-on experience with:
Carpentry and general repair
Power tools and maintenance equipment
Basic electrical, plumbing, or HVAC (a plus)
Lawn maintenance and snow removal
Excellent follow-up and attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks.
Self Motivated.
Have your own basic tools.
Comfort working around horses and in a barn/hospital setting (preferred).
Valid driver's license (required).
Must be able to commute to or relocate to Rhinebeck, NY 12572.
Schedule
8-hour shifts
Day and evening availability
Monday to Friday
Weekends as needed
